While there are numerous wellness groups and classes available, they often do not cater specifically to men. We aim to change that. If you are ready to take charge of your health and walk the wellness path alongside supportive, like-minded men, then The ShaMen Tribe is for you

​Join us for an empowering men's retreat dedicated to cultivating a healthy sense of self.  Participants will engage in meaningful activities led by positive male role models, exploring themes of self-discovery, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Dr. Jared M. McCollum (right) Dr.Ac., is passionate about guiding people on their path to health and wellness and helping them discover the amazing healing ability they all hold within themselves. Having graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2004, Dr. McCollum has extensive training in Acupuncture, Oriental Diet Therapy, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, Meditation and Taoist Psychology and Psychotherapy. Jared has spent countless hours serving the communities he has lived in over the last 20 years, offering classes in meditation, Qi Gong and programs he has developed which identify emotional blocks and help others let go of extreme emotions and stress. He is committed to improving the health of his patients as well as their community.

Todd Moroz (left), is passionate about guiding people on their path to health and wellness through meditation practices to help release physical and mental stress while embracing a holistically spiritual path. After spending several years practicing meditation as a means to balance his own life and manage personal traumas which plagued him throughout his life, he sought to learn more as a means to share this gift with others. This led him to recently completing his Meditation Instruction and Holistic Counselling course, and he is also a Sound Healing & Reiki Practitioner. Todd is currently embracing this gift and sharing with many others by initiating meditation clubs at work and being a leader in emotional intelligence. In addition, he is also a huge advocate of shedding the stigma on men’s mental and emotional health and is leading a Men’s Meditation and Wellness Club, The ShaMen Tribe. To further encourage and support mental health and overall personal wellness, he is also embarking on a train-the-trainer path by embracing his meditation studies and teaching others these gifts so they may further the effort in helping themselves while helping others.

Derek Rowe, In 2021 I undertook a 200-hour YTT online. I was pleased to be able to work my full-time job fixing cars and take schooling to become a yoga teacher. I chose an amazing school, @youryogaflow. For me, this type of learning was perfect. I dedicated at least 40 minutes every morning except Sundays to learning and practicing yoga. I graduated my 200 hour YTT in November of 2021.  I started teaching live classes at a local church, the library, and a fitness center. What a rewarding experience. 2022, I started my Advanced 300 YTT with Your Yoga Flow. It was challenging balancing family plus work plus school plus teaching yoga, but I managed to keep going with encouraging words from my family and completed my 300-hour advanced YTT on August 4th, 2023. I continue to learn every day. I love to share the teachings of yoga and wish to bring everybody into this wonderful practice. My favorite styles of yoga are Yin, Power, and Vinyasa Flow. If you can find me in High River, I would love to guide you in an amazing practice of self care. 

Refund and Modification Guidelines:

We appreciate your understanding that Foothills Wellness Retreat passes are non-refundable. Recognizing that unforeseen circumstances may arise, our refund and modification guidelines are crafted with fairness in mind for both our participants and our business. Passes are transferable to another individual, subject to approval and adjustments by the Foothills Wellness Retreat administration. Should the Foothills Wellness Retreat need to cancel the event, we will extend the choice to participants of either receiving a refund or being credited for an upcoming event. Your flexibility and cooperation in such situations are sincerely appreciated.
